CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  Substantial completion on this project was given on October 12th.  The completion of punch list items is underway.  The installation of streetlights along the west side of 216th Avenue SE have been completed.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  The main activity will be landscaping and work on some punch list items will also start.  The installation of streetlights along the west side of 216th Avenue SE, south of SE 276th Street are nearly complete.  There will also be some traffic sign installation and adjustment along the length of the project.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  Landscaping will continue.  The installation of streetlights along the west side of 216th Avenue SE, south of SE 276th Street is expected to occur after Tuesday.  Traffic signs will also installed or adjusted along the length of the project.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  Landscaping will continue and striping 216th Avenue SE will occur Monday and Tuesday, weather permitting.  Power pole removal (wreck out) is expected to be completed Tuesday.  This will be followed by the installation of streetlights along the west side of 216th Avenue SE, south of SE 276th Street.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  Landscaping and striping 216th Avenue SE will be underway.  Beginning Thursday, pole removal (wreck out) will begin and continue into early the following week.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  Landscaping and adjusting water valves and structures in the street will be underway.  Streetlight installation along the east side of 216th Avenue SE by INTOLIGHT will also be occurring.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  Forming and pouring of sidewalks along the east side of 216th Avenue SE will be completed on Monday.  Landscaping will be underway.  Puget Sound Energy will be removing power poles along the west side of 216th Avenue SE from Tuesday through Thursday (see Traffic Alerts).

PROJECT UPDATE #22

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  Paving of 216th Avenue SE and temporary striping was completed last week.  Forming and pouring of sidewalks along the east side of  216th Avenue SE is scheduled.  Topsoil in the medians and the planter strips along the east side will be installed followed by landscaping in these areas.

PROJECT UPDATE #21

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  Paving of 216th Avenue SE will be completed next week in a minimum of two days, with temporary striping to follow.  Dry weather is required for paving.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  Due to the likelihood of rain over the next few days, the pavement overlay will be postponed until Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.  Work will continue Wednesday and Thursday and a rough road surface in areas after the milling can be anticipated until the pavement overlay is complete.

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street for the week of August 29th through September 2nd will include milling for excess pavement removal, to occur on Monday and Tuesday.  A rough road surface in areas after the milling can be anticipated until the pavement overlay is complete.  The pavement overlay will occur Wednesday through Friday, weather permitting- (the extended forecast indicates the probability of showers by Friday).  If paving is not completed this week, it will be completed early the following week.  Landscape restoration along the west side in back of the sidewalk with hydroseeding of the grassed areas, filling of median islands with topsoil and pavement removal and replacement near the north end of the project were recently completed.

PROJECT UPDATE #18

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street for this week will include pavement removal and replacement between SE 273rd Place and SE 272nd along the east side early next week and INTOLIGHT will begin to install the new streetlight system.  Landscape restoration along the west side in back of the sidewalk with hydro-seeding of the grassed area and has curb installation around the perimeter of the median islands have been completed.  The ADA compliant curb ramps have been completed.  Pavement milling along the length of the project, is expected to begin the following week leading up to Labor Day.  A rough road surface for a few days afterward is anticipated until the pavement overlay is complete.

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street for this week will include landscape restoration along the west side in back of the sidewalk, excavation of the three median islands and curb installation around the perimeter of the median islands.  Grading for sidewalk along the east side of 216th Avenue SE and for the curb ramps will continue.  There will also be pavement removal of a section of the north bound lane north of SE 273rd Place near the north end of the project early in the week.  The remainder of the concrete work has been completed at the Fire Station and the entrance of the PlaMor.  Portable messaging signs are stationed at the north and south end of the project.

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street has progressed to the completion of curb installation and curbside paving along the east side.  Restoration of the joint utility trench area will continue along the west side with topsoil.  Comcast will be splicing underground lines along the southwest end of the project.  Pedestrian access along the west side of 216th Avenue SE will remain open at all times.  Portable messaging signs are stationed at the north and south end of the project.  The remainder of the concrete work will be completed at the fire station.

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street has progressed to the completion of curb installation.  Grading for sidewalks along the east side is underway and the relocation of fire hydrants and water services will be completed.  Restoration of the joint utility trench area is continuing along the west side.  Utility vaults relocation by Comcast along the south end of the project will continue through next week.  Pedestrian access along the west side of 216th Avenue SE will remain open at all times.  Portable messaging signs are stationed at the north and south end of the project.  Paving will occur on Friday next to the curb along the east side of 216th Ave. SE.  A  temporary closure of SE 276th east of 216th Avenue SE during the last concrete placement near the new high school  may be required during non-peak hours.

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE continues from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street with the conversion to underground power and communications.  Undergrounding for dry utilities along the east side north of SE 276th Street, relocation of fire hydrants and construction of retaining walls have been completed.  The new storm line has been cleaned and tested.  The east side of 216th is being prepared for curb and gutter, that will be poured later in the week.  Restoration of the joint utility trench area has begun along the west side.  Utility vaults relocation by PSE along the south end of the project will continue through next week.  Pedestrian access along the west side of 216th will remain open at all times.  Portable messaging signs are stationed at the north and south end of the project.  Two temporary closures of SE 276th east of 216th Avenue SE during two separate concrete placements may be required during non-peak hours.

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE, from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street with the conversion to underground power and communications nearly completed.  In addition, Comcast will be pulling wire through the new underground conduit starting later this week.  Undergrounding for dry utilities along the east side north of SE 276th Street and relocation of fire hydrants has been completed.  The new storm line was cleaned and tested this week.  The removal of asphalt pavement for construction of three median islands is underway.  Portable messaging signs are stationed at the north and south ends of the project.  The sidewalk along the west side of 216th will remain open at all times.

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE, from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street has moved to the south end of the project and has completed much of the aerial to underground power and communications. The joint utility trench, with installation of conduit and utility vaults is expected to be completed next week.  After that time, PSE will begin pulling wire.  Additional work crews on-site are undergrounding for dry utilities north of SE 276th on the east side of 216th Avenue SE.  Installation of storm piping on the east side has begun at the north end and will continue southward.  Portable messaging signs are stationed at the north and south ends of the project.  The sidewalk along the west side of 216th will be temporarily rerouted as needed, but will remain open at all times.

The joint utility trench digging and installation of conduit utility vaults continues south of SE 276th to the south end of the project.  This week additional work crews will be undergrounding for dry utilities north of SE 276th on the east side of 216th Avenue SE along with storm that will be started on the east side at the north end.  The portable messaging signs are stationed at the north and south ends of the project.  The sidewalk along the west side of 216th will be temporarily rerouted during digging of the joint utility trench, but will remain open at all times.

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE, from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street began the aerial to underground power and communications conversion last week.

The first phase of construction will consist of a joint utility trench being dug along the west side of 216th Avenue SE, south of SE 276th as part of the underground conversion of power and communication to underground, that will begin starting May 16th.  Erosion control is being installed and clearing and grubbing has begun.  Please note the portable messaging signs at the north and south end of the project.  

Periodic delays during construction hours can be anticipated.

WEEKLY UPDATE:  Construction on 216th Avenue SE, from SE 272nd Avenue (SR 516) to SE 283rd Street will begin on Monday, May 2nd

The first phase of construction consists of a joint utility trench being dug along the west side of 216th Avenue SE, south of SE 276th as part of the underground conversion of power and communication to underground.  The existing utility poles will be removed later.  Erosion control will also be installed.  Please note the portable messaging signs at the north and south end of the project.   

Periodic traffic delays can be anticipated.
