Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a great way to serve your City, get to know other people, and/or learn a new skill. The City has numerous opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved as volunteers. Some of the options include:
  • Special Events Operations
  • Contest Judges
  • Day Camp Assistants
  • Sports Assistants
  • Ground Maintenance/Planting
  • Litter Collection
  • Office Assistants
  • Blockwatch Captains
  • Citizens on Patrol
  • Adopt-A-Road Program
  • Storm Sewer Stenciling

If you are interested in volunteering for the City, please complete a Volunteer Enrollment Form, and mail it to City of Maple Valley, P.O. Box 320, Maple Valley, WA 98038, or drop it off at City Hall, 22017 SE Wax Road, Suite 200, Maple Valley, Washington. 

Boards, Commission, and Committees
The City also has a number of boards and commissions comprised of citizen volunteers appointed by by recommendation of the Mayor and majority vote of the City Council. These include:

  • Planning Commission
  • Economic Development Committee
  • Lake Wilderness Citizens Advisory Committee
  • Library Advisory Board
  • Parks and Recreation Commission
  • Public Arts Commission
